Blood, sex and violence are the three key elements to make a show popular. George R.R. The massacre behind the wall
The very season starts behind the wall and we are immediately introduced to the White Walkers. Most shocking scene is where we see a little girl stabbed and hanging on a tree.
One of the rangers who were behind the wall somehow managed to escape the White Walkers. He came to warn the common people, but Ned Stark beheads him because that is the punishment for deserters.
This death of the innocent direwolf was one of the saddest scenes in season 1 since Ned Stark killed his daughter direwolf just to please the king.

We don’t see the actual moment of his death but we see him lying in a bed covered with blood after he has been attacked by a boar.
In this scene we see the slaughter of the Kingsguard who were supporting Ned’s intention to confront Cersei. The Throne Room looks like a slaughterhouse with all the dead men.
Arya’s first kill
After Ned’s imprisonment, the Lannister’s army search for Arya. She is able to escape with the help of her ‘dancing teacher’ and on her way out of the castle she is stopped by a boy who wishes to bring Arya to the queen. Arya’s instinct for survival is triggered and she makes her first kill. It’s actually very sad to see this scene where an innocent girl becomes a murderer.
One of the dead bodies that were found beyond the Wall comes to life and attacks Jon. Jon is able to kill the creature with the help of fire. And let’s not forget to mention the direwolf, Ghost, who also helped Jon.
The confrontation between Khal Drogo and one of his men is very interesting and yet very brutal scene. While making threats, Khal Drogo starts fighting the man and finishes him off with ripping his thong out of his throat.
Although is a killing out of mercy, you feel very sad seeing the moment when Daenerys kills her beloved husband.
