Game Of Thrones Review Season 1 Episode 6 -The new episode begins with Ned lying in a bed and the king and the queen stand over his bed. Good, now we can be relieved because Ned is still alive, although badly hurt from the fight with Jaime and his men. The queen asks for Ned’s punishment because she thinks he betrayed and offended her family by attacking Jamie and imprisoning Tyrion, but the king disagrees.

When she says to Robert “I should wear the armor, and you the gown” she deeply offended the king so he slaps her very hard. This statement can also lead us to guess about Cersei’s intentions- she truly wants to replace the king, it doesn’t matter whether her son or she will sit on the Iron Throne, she will be ruling the Kingdom.

“We’ll be at war” says Robert as he tries to convince Ned to stay by his side and retake the position Hand of the king and asks him to demand Tyrion’s release from Catelyn. Yes, the king is very much aware that these little disputes with the Lannisters can lead them to war but he is in huge debts to Ser Tywin Lanister, the queen’s father, and that’s why he needs to maintain good relations with them.

“The truth”

Ned again offends the Lannister with another mistake he makes-during a hearing of a man from Riverland, who tells the audience and the Hand about The Mountain’s terrorizing the village, Ned demands that Ser Gregor Clagene, The Mountain is stripped off his title and sentenced to death  and asks for Tywin Lannister to answer before the court. Very bald move you’d say and yet very stupid of him.

Season 1 Episode 6 “Ned brings justice”

However, Ned realizes that King’s Landing isn’t a safe place anymore and he tells his daughter to pack up for Winterfell. They disagree with Ned, Sansa is in love with Joffrey and Ayra won’t leave her “dancing” lessons. But Sansa’s words “He’ll be the greatest king who ever was … and I’ll give him sons with beautiful blond hair” make Ned look again at the book of lineage he borrowed and he finally learns the truth, the one we have been suspecting –Joffrey is son of Cersei and Jaime, he isn’t the rightful heir to the throne.

“The seed is strong”, finally these words have a meaning-Baratheon lineage is with dark hair, all the ancestors were dark haired, Lannister lineage is with blond hair, and so if Joffrey was a son of Robert Baratheon he would have black hair because, as John Aryyn said “The seed is strong”.

Up in Winterfell, Bran has been given a special saddle and he went  horse riding with Robb and Theon. After a small dispute between Theon and Robb they notice that Bran has left their sight. Bran is captured by several wildlings who want to take his horse and to rob him. Robb comes to the rescue but Theon is the real hero when he killed the man who was holding a knife under Bran’s throat. One of the wildlings, a girl, asked for her life to be spared and she’s been taken as a prisoner.

“The prophecy”

The real thrill in episode 6 of Game of thrones season 1 can be felt in the scenes with the Dothraki. At first, Daenerys is looking at the dragon eggs that were a gift for her wedding and she takes one and puts it into the fire. When she takes the egg out, her hands are not burned from the fire. The symbolism lies in the story of her house Targaryen- it is believed that fire cannot  hurt dragons.

Season 1 Episode 6 “Daenerys eating a heart”

Later on, Daenerys  performs a ritual where she is eating a stallion’s heart for the sake of her unborn child. After she finishes the whole ritual, a prophecy is made-she will have a son who will become the greater khal of all khals. Jealous of the tribe’s cheering for Daenerys, Viserys wants to steal the dragon eggs so that he can buy a ship and an army and continue on his own. At the same moment when he takes the eggs, Ser Jorah Mormont enters the tent and stops him from the intention of stealing and gives him the choice of leaving.

“Trial by combat”

Imagine you wake up with your head hanging over the edge of drop down a mountain. Scary, isn’t it? Well Tyrion wakes up in this position and now we see that he is really scared and he is making plans how to get himself out of this mess.

Game Of Thrones

Season 1 Episode 6 “View from the sky cell”

He convinces the guard of the prison to tell Lady Lysa that he is ready to confess his crimes. But when he is summoned to answer for his crimes, Tyrion is playing mind games, telling jokes and confessing his childhood actions of stupidity, without telling a single word about the real conviction and confession.Instead, he wants this problem to be solved with a trial by combat, in which Bronn, the sellsword fights for him and wins the trial. After this, Tyrion is left to leave as a free man and together with Bronn they start their journey to King’s Landing.

“The promised crown”

The perfect ending of episode 6 opens a new door for some characters in Game of thrones season 1. Visery’s jealousy and anger are very obvious and now he makes public treats to her sister and to the khal, asking from him the crown that was promised. Viserys lowers his sword when Khal Drogo tells him that the crown will be delivered to him. At the same moment Drogo’s men seize Viserys while Drogo melts his golden medallion and then pours the gold on Viserys head.

He falls dead and his sister says that he wasn’t the dragon he was claiming to be because “Fire cannot kill a dragon”.  With Viserys out of the picture, now  Daenerys has the chance to retrieve the home for herself. Will she sit on the Iron Throne?
