Game of thrones review season 2 episode 7- Theon wakes up to find out that he has been tricked by the wildling girl who is now missing together with Bran, Rickon and Hodor. Furious, he beats one of his men and orders a search party.
Morning has come and Jon and Yigritte wake up in the wilderness. They have spent the night hugging, keeping each other warm and Yigritte makes jokes now about Jon’s “morning wood”. Humiliated and insulted he orders her to keep going ahead so they can find his men of the Night’s Watch.
As they walk along the road, Ygritte continues to poke him and makes jokes about Jon’s virginity. She flirts with him and offers him to join the wildlings and be free and with a woman. Confused and distracted, Jon again loses control over the rope and once again Ygritte manages to escape. When he finally catches up to her he sees how he is surrounded by the wildling army.
Yes, you may think that he should have killed her when he had the chance, but knowing his character you already know that he has a gentle heart and he wouldn’t hurt a girl. Give him a break, will you? He has never been with a girl before and he is not thinking clearly now.
After the unpleasant events in episode 6 of Game of thrones season 2, Sansa didn’t have the chance to thank her savior. When she meets the Hound, Sansa thanks him. He is not impressed by her action telling her that he likes killing and that he didn’t do that for her- it was orders.
Even though it’s in the past now, Sansa dreams of being attacked again. When she wakes up she sees blood in her bed- she has become a woman. Sansa knows what it means, she will be able to give birth to Joffrey’s children.
Petrified of the thought, she tries to hide the sheet of the bed. Shae enters the room and tries to help but it’s too late because Cersei’s spies have already seen the sheet. The king’s mother shows sympathy for Sansa when they have the conversation about Sansa’s change and her future with Joffrey.
Tyrion tries to explain to his sister that the war is nearly at their gates and that she needs to have bigger influence over her son. But the king doesn’t listen to his mother anymore and she reveals the true origin of him- it is a son of the incest with her brother. She thinks that his evil character is as a punishment for the nasty thing she has been doing with her brother, Jaime.
When Jorah returns to Daenerys he found out about the dragons. Jorah promises Daenerys to help her and that she has to have faith in him. It’s ironic to see him convincing Daenerys to trust him as we already know that he tried to betray her once so that he can clear his name with the king’s pardon. Still, Daenerys asks Jorah to find the dragons, as she cannot live without her babies.
Jorah goes to the mysterious woman who appeared in previous episodes in Game of thrones and asks her for help. The woman first asks him if he will be loyal to Daeneys now that he loves her deeply. She tells him that the man who stole the dragons is in Daenerys’ company right now.
Well, during the meeting with the Thirteen, the warlock reveals the truth that it was he who took the dragons and that he has been keeping them in the House of the Undying. After this statement, the warlock kills 12 of the men by using his magic.
When the messenger returns from King’s Landing he has been placed in the cell with Jaime Lannister. They start telling stories to each other and later Jaime tells him that he has found a way to escape this prison. When the man moves closely to hear what the Kingslayer has planned, Jaime beats him to death so that the jailer would come, and when he does, Jaime also kills him and break free.
The word of Jaime’s escape quickly reaches Robb’s ears and a search party is immediately organizes. When found, Jaime is being dragged back to his cell in the camp. The angry mob of Robb’s men demands Jaime’s head while Catelyn tries to make sense to the men.
Realizing that one way or another, the men will try to kill Jaime, Catelyn decides to send Brienne with Jaime to Kingslanding and offer him as a trade for her daughters. She does this on her own, without consulting Robb, because she knows he wouldn’t agree. But the mother’s love for her children is very strong and she tries to get the girls back in every possible way.
While Catelyn tries to save the girls, her boys back in Winterfell have been tortured. In the final scene of episode 7 of Game of thrones season 2 we see how Theon addresses the people of Winterfell. He is sending them a message of what will happen to them if they don’t follow Theon’s orders. He presents two boys’ bodies burned and hanged.
