Game of thrones review Season 4 episode 7- After the twist of events in previous episode of Game of thrones we see Jaime and Tyrion talking about his eruption during the trial. Tyrion is very aware that his father’s decision was all he ever wanted. He would get Jaime back as his heir and send Tyrion far away from his sight.
He admits Jaime he enjoyed to take away Tywins pleasure by demanding the trial by combat. Jaime tells Tyrion that the Mountain will fight against Tyrion’s champion and Tyrion has little hope now that he will get himself alive from this mess.
Shortly after Jaime’s visit, Bronn comes to visit Tyrion in the dungeon. Tyrion is angry with Bronn since he’s been looking for him for days now. Bronn tells Tyrion he will gladly fight for him, but now he has no chance against the Mountain.
Bronn was offered a wealthy wife to marry and also a title and a lot of wealth and he will not fight for Tyrion and loose it all. Tyrion understands Bronn’s decision, they shake hands and Bronn wishes him good luck.
Later that night Tyrion has an unexpected visitor. Prince Oberyn enters the chamber and they talk about Tyrion’s early days as an infant. Oberyn’s first travel from Dorne was to Casterly Rock, to see the creature that was born in house Lannister.
Oberyn tells him how Cersei told the story of the demonic creature but Oberin admits he was disappointed to see a rather normal baby boy. Tyrion’s face is filled with sorrow by hearing this story and learning the truth about his family- they all hated him, his sister and his father made his life more miserable each day. Only Jaime hasn’t treated Tyrion that way.
Finally, Oberin tells Tyrion that he is seeking justice and now that he has learned that the Mountain will fight, Oberyn tells Tyrion he will be his champion. Relieved and fulfilled with happiness, Tyrion almost cries in front of Oberyn. At least he has a chance now of winning the trial. Or has he?
Arya and the Hound continue their journey and they find a raided cottage with dead men around it. One man is still alive but deadly wounded and asks the Hound to save him from the troubles.
The Hound mercies the man and kills him, teaching Arya how she is supposed to kill a man. The same moment he’s been attacked by a man who bits him on the neck. The Hound kills that man and sees another standing near them.
Arya recognizes the man from Yoren’s recruits; he threatened to f**k Arya with a wooden stick. The Hound asks her if the man is on her list, but she denies, telling the Hound it’s impossible since she doesn’t know his name.
The man says his name and immediately after that Arya kills him, following the Hound’s instruction how to kill a man. She is a fast learner and she has already taken several names off her list.
Still, she was disappointed to learn that Joffrey is dead. He was on her list too and since he is dead now, she’ll never have the chance to do it herself.
After the attack, the Hound tries to stich himself. Arya offers to help and she approaches him with a wood on fire to burn the wound. Scared and angry the Hound yells at her, telling her never to bring fire so close to him.
He tells Arya the story of his scars on the face- when he was a young boy, he took one of his brothers’ toys and as a punishment his brother, the Mountain, put the Hound’s face into the fire.
Their father hides the truth from everybody, protecting his elder son. Even though the Hound is on her “kill list”, Arya sympathizes with him and takes care of his wound.
Daenerys tells Ser Jorah how she will end slavery. She sent Daario to kill all the masters in Yunkai and once again free the slaves. Ser Jorah advises her not to do this and she changes her mind.
Instead killing the masters, she will send the man who pleaded for his father’s body as a messenger so he will travel to Yunkai with Daario. The messenger will tell the masters of Yunkai that they have a choice to live in the new world or to die in their own.
Brienne and Pod arrive in the tavern where Hot Pie, Arya’s friend works. Hot Pie serves the guest and starts explaining the process of making a good pie. Brienne interrupts him, asking the boy about Arya Stark.
Not expecting to hear Arya’s name, Hot Pie changes the topic and leaves the table. The next morning he approaches Brienne and tells the truth about Arya. Poddrick assumes that Arya must be in the Erie with her aunt Lysa so they continue their travel in search for both Arya and Sansa.
Meanwhile in the Erie, Sansa is making a snow castle. It looks very much like Winterfell and she feels like home with the snow around her. Her cousin Robin comes and he unintentionally destroys the castle.
Angry with him, Sansa slaps Robin who escapes crying to his mother. Baelish saw this dispute between the cousins and tries to calm Sansa down, ending up kissing Sansa.
Unfortunately, Lady Lysa saw this kiss and is filled with jealousy. She speaks with Sansa and threatens to throw her through the “Moon door”. At the same moment Lord Baelish enters and calms Lysa down. He admits that he loved only one woman, her sister Catelyn and so he pushes Lysa through the “Moon door”.
Well this was a bit of a surprise from Baelish. His marriage with Lysa made him Lord of the Vale and still he risked everything to save Sansa by killing Lysa. Of course he will chose Sansa, she is the key to the North as Lord Varys once said.
