Game of thrones review season 5 episode 10- Melisandre is pleased with herself when she sees the snow melting and the road to Winterfell is cleared. Her face turns bitter when Stannis receives a word that half of his army deserted, taking all of the horses with them and his wife, Selyse has hanged herself. Stannnis decides to march for Winterfell against all odds even when Melisandre flees the camp.
Meanwhile, Sansa in Winterfell is taking advantage of the preparations for battle and escapes her confinement. She goes to the broken tower where she lights a candle hoping to be saved. On the other side, Brienne misses the signal when she hears that Stannis and his army are approaching and heads off hoping to kill him.
Upon preparing for the siege on Winterfell, Stannis and his army are surrounded and heavily outnumbered by the mounted forces of the Boltons. With all of his men dead, Stannis is heavily wounded. Brienne finds him and accuses him for the murder of his brother Renly. After getting a confession she kills him.
Sansa stumbles upon Theon and Myranda. Myranda is armed with a bow and is threatening Sansa, reminding her of the terrible things Ramsay is planning to do to her. Theon suddenly grabs her and throws her off the wall killing her. When he sees Ramsay returning he takes Sansa and they escape jumping of the wall. Go, go Theon!
At the brothel in Braavos, Meryn Trant chooses between three little girls. Only one of the three doesn’t make a sound when he hits them. When the little girl takes off her face it turns out to be Arya. She jumps at Meryn stabbing him in his eyes and chest. Before she cuts his throat she tells him that she is Arya Stark and he is nobody, nothing.
When she returns the face in the Hall of Faces Jaqen and the Waif are waiting for her. Jaqen tells her she stole from the Many-faced God and that the life she took was not hers to take. Jaqen plays a game with her and punishes her by taking her eyes. Arya is blind.
In Dorne, Jaime prepares to take Myrcella back to King’s Landing. Before they board the ship, Ellaria gives Myrcella a kiss for goodbye. Aboard the ship, Jaime struggles to tell Myrcella that he is her father, but it turns out she already knows. She tells Jaime she is glad he is her father and hugs him.
She suddenly bleeds from the nose and dies in her father’s arms. Back at the port, Ellaria also starts to bleed but she drinks a small potion and wipes her lips.
In Mereen, in the Throne Room a plan is made. Daario and Johar are going to set off in a search for Daenerys. Tyrion, Grey Worm and Missandrei are going to stay and govern the City. Later, Varys joins Tyrion and agrees to help him in his new task.
Daenerys tries to persuade Drogon to take her back to Mereen, but Drogon is wounded and is not going anywhere. Daenerys faced with the fact she is not going back soon and so she takes off to find something to eat when a Dothraki horde surrounds her. She secretly drops her ring.
Cersei is broken. She is brought to the High Sparrow and confesses that she bedded Lancel Lannister , but strongly denies that she was sleeping with Jaime and that he is the father of her three children.
She still has to face a trial, but when she begs for mercy The High Sparrow lets her go back to her son, only after she atones for her sins. Cersei is stripped naked, her hair is cut and she is forced to walk the streets that way. Septa Unella walks behind her ringing a bell and shouting “Shame”.
When Cersei finally gets to the Red Keep, she is covered in dirt and filth and her feet are bloody. She enters the gates where Qyburn covers her with a blanket and introduces the newest member of the King’s guard. A huge man with a dark face and red bloody eyes staring through the helmet lifts Cersei in his hands.
“For the watch”
Jon Snow talks about the things he experienced at Hardhome with Sam when Sam asks to be sent to study at the Citadel in Oldtown. He explains that he would be much more of use when he becomes a Maester and is also afraid for the lives of Gilly and baby Sam. Jon is sad, but agrees when Sam promises he would return.
Davos is trying to get men and supplies of Jon, but Jon refuses. Their argument is interrupted when Melisandre enters Castle Black. They find out that Stannis has lost the battle. Davos asks about Shereen and is devastated when Melisandre doesn’t answer.
Later in the night, Olly rushes into Jon’s chambers telling him that a wildling has seen his uncle Benjen. Jon is led outside to a sign saying traitor. Alliser Thorne and several men stab him one by one repeating the words “for the watch”. Olly stabs him in the heart and Jon dies. Wait, what? No, no, no, this must be some kind of mistake! He cannot die! Not like this, not now! NOOOOOO!!!!
