Game of thrones review season 5 episode 4 – Jaime and Bronn are travelling to Dorne to save the princess. Bron is asking a lot of questions and is wondering about Tyrion. Jaime says that if he sees his brother he will kill him. They arrive in Dorne and are attacked by a group of Dornish soldiers.
Jaime and Bronn manage to kill them. Ellaria Sand meets with hers and Oberyns daughters, The Sand Snakes who found out about Jamie’s plan. They decide to take maters in to their own hands and avenge Oberyn by killing Myrcella, and with that starting a war with the Lannisters.
Cersei sends The Master of Coin, Mace Tyrell to Braavos to negotiate new terms with the bank. The Small Council is getting a lot smaller. Later, in a meeting with The High Sparrow Cersei arranges for the Crown to arm the Faith Militant, and appoints him as the New High Septon, mentioning that they have a great sinner in the family.
The Sparrows, now armed and with power, start to take to the city. They raid all of the Brothels, Smash the barrels with alcohol and are being brutal, especially towards homosexuals. The City Guard just looks the other way. A group led by Lancel Lannister captures Ser Loras Tyrell. Queen Margaery runs straight to Tommen asking the reason of her brother’s capture.
Margaery is blaming Cersei as an act of revenge, demanding from Tommen to release her brother. The king doesn’t know what’s happening so he asks Cersei for the release of Ser Loras. Cersey doesn’t hold him captive and sends King Tommen to speak to the new High Septon.
On his way, king Tommen shows fear as his path is blocked by the armed faith Militants, and is turned down without speaking to The High Septon. The poor people on the street call him an abomination and born from sin. He then returns to Margaery with the news and she leaves him to be with her family.
Melisandre talks to Stannis, reminding him that the last time she was left behind, he lost the battle, so she is not planning to let that happen on the march on Winterfell. We then see her offering her body to Jon Snow and trying to change his mind about joining Stannis’ army but Jon refuses her. WHORE! Melisandre exits Jon’s chamber, telling him he knows nothing. Ok ladies, will you please stop saying that?
Stannis is explaining to his daughter how he found the cure for her Grey scale disease. He doesn’t share details about the cure, but it’s enough for us to know that there is a cure for this disease. Why? You’ll see much later in season 5 of Game of thrones.
Hizdahr tries to convince Daenerys to reopen the fighting pits, in the meanwhile the Sons of the Harpy are attacking all over the city. Grey Worm and several Unsullied are ambushed and almost killed when Ser Baristan Selmy comes to the aid but he is badly wounded in the process. Grey Worm lies down injured next to him.
Tyrion finds out that he is being taken to Queen Daenerys, not his sister. Before being knocked out, he guesses that his kidnapper is Jorah Mormont and remembers that he spied on Daenerys for the small council.
Sansa is in the crypt, honoring her ancestors and lighting a candle to the statue of her aunt Lyanna when Baelish joins her. He tells her the story about the day at the tournament when Rhaegar Targaryen won against Baristan Selmy, and instead of honoring his wife, Elia Martell, he gave the crown of winter roses to her aunt Lyanna.
Many people died because he chose Lyanna. Baelish tells Sansa that he has to go to King’s Landing to see Cersei, but comforts her by telling her that Stannis is going to take over Winterfell, free her and name her Wardeness of the North. If that doesn’t happen she should marry Ramsay and outsmart him and his father Roose Bolton.
